A lot of people have complained about their recruiter's ability to put together their packet. My recruiter seems to be one of these types.
Do I have to go through a recruiter? I have researched plenty and feel that I know more about what goes into a WOFT packet. Can I do this myself or is there a requirement that a recruiter sign off everything?
Thanks

Well I have to say I can understand your frustration. It would be nice if the Army had separate recruiters for WO, and Officers - but..... Well anyway - let me guess - you've done extensive research on your own, you know exactly or pretty much what needs to be done, and you feel like you know more about it that your recruiter does?
Riiiiiight - I am going through a similar experience. I think this may be of some help - https://www.infantry.army.mil/ocs/content/apply_to_OCS.htm
Click on the "Click here to view" under the heading of "Newly Enlisting Personnel." This will open a .pdf that is the "Law" for OCS and WOFT.
Hopefully this will help you steer your recruiter if need be.
Cheers

Thanks Doug.
I actually found a recruiter that seems to know it all. I will be checking our progress against my own research however.
I did already run into a bit of frustration.
I signed up to take the ASVAB at night and the physical the next morning. When I got to Fort Gillem, they told me to go back home because I wasn't in the system. My recruiter was able to bypass this person and "push" me through the system. I was not able to be "pushed" through for the physical though and will have to go back.
I made a 97 on the ASVAB with a 134 GT. They told me that 136 is the max for GT (i think I read some BS in this forum somewhere).
I just need to roll through the other stuff hopefully in time to make the April board. _________________ BS in Aerospace Engineering Expected May '06 |

Im on my last semester at Georgia Tech for aerospace engineering. Seems like I have been there a lifetime. I was on the co-op program where I worked in my field for 5 semesters, so it will almost be 6 years total there.
I just took my regular physical today. Excited to get the ball rolling. _________________ BS in Aerospace Engineering Expected May '06 |
