I was just selected on the January 2006 board and I had a few questions.

1. I want to be a Longbow pilot more than anything but does the Army allow these pilots to try out for SOAR after their first tour?

2. Someone give it to me straight please, do I move my family before or after WOCS? I ask because I am an interservice transfer.

Lastly I have some advice for everyone that is applying. It took me three boards to get accepted, and honestly I wasn't quite sure I stood a chance but as the old saying goes "persistence pays off". So I would advise those who have been a non-select to find out what was lacking in their package and bring it up to par, then re-apply, re-apply, and re-apply.

Mr. Swisher

Congratualtions on getting accepted!! Prior service huh?? Must be Navy coming from Bremerton. Anyways you can move your family down either before or after WOCS it's up to you my advice come down a couple weeks early and find a place and get the family settled in before starting WOCS. Enterprise is nice so is Daleville but you have to look around. As far as the SOAR thing goes it is something you apply for and get accepted into. The SOAR does not fly Apaches sorry. the SOAR sends out recruters and it is an intense process to get accepted. Good luck let me know if you have any other questions.
