Erik,

Whats up, I am at NAS Atlanta, I am in the Navy, but I am leaving for WOCS in Aug for the Army.

You need to schedule a flight phys. @ Ft. McPherson. They will give you a good one and they are very helpful and quick.

I did mine in Oct of 04. It was done in Nov. They sent it down to Rucker to get approved, and everything went smoothly.

I am @ 6587 on the Navy side if you need anything....

I didn't think it was possible for someone to schedule their own flight physical? I thought you needed approval from your command. When I enlisted the recruiters told me that I would have to complete basic first then I could get permission from my command to get a flight physical.

I'm still waiting to go to basic for the army guard and wondering if I can schedule my flight physical before I go.

Once again, recruiters are trying to sound knowledgable about something instead of making a phone call to get correct information.

The only thing your command supplies to your packet is a)signing the 4187 authorizing you to take the AFAST, and b) giving you a letter of recommendation from the Co and Bn Commanders. Everything else is on you to get done.

My advice - call you local flight surgeon / physical exams clinic. Tell them you are putting together a packet for WOCS / flight school and need to get a Class 1A flight physical. That should be all there is to it.
