|
|
I am shipping out 03/05 to begin BCT followed by WOCS and WOFT. I was wondering about what type of fixed winged aircraft is used by the Army and when and how does the fixed wing flight training begin.
Thanks

Cessna 182 for conversion from fling to fixed wing.
C-12s (Ratheon Super King Air 200) for multi training.
I don't know that WO can directly access to FW training out of IERW, unless they are Reserve component folks.

The Fixed wing board meets every year to select WO for Fixed wing transition. You must be eligible for PCS the Fiscal year of the board (OCT - SEP). This means you must have served at least 12 months at an initial duty station. If overseas then you must have a DEROS during the Fiscal year the board is selecting for.
Few, if any WO, are sent to FW units straight from flight school. In addition, this is a competitive board just like a promotion board and has about a 15% selection rate depending on training seats available and number of applicants each year. |
