I am preparing to enter the warrant flight school in fort rucker and would like to have an idea of what a typical day or week consists of at the school. I have had a few short comments, but if there is anyone who could give me a solid idea of what to expect it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Jay-

First, of course, you will have to make it through WOCS. I don't want to
ruin the surprise for you, but let's suffice to say that it's 6 weeks long
and you won't be lacking things to do during that time. Your day will be
full and planned out, so don't worry about that.

After WOCS, you should have a 4-6 week "bubble" where you will not do much
except pull some odd casual duty jobs, do PT 3 days a week, and re-gain
some of the weight you lost at WOCS. It's not too bad. You get paid like
everyone else, you just have nothing to do but wait for school to start.
Be smart and pick up a copy of the TH-67 5&9 flashcards or the Operator's
Supplement and start learning the Emergency Procedures and Operating
Limits. It will make your life so much easier later in school.

When you're placed in a class, you will first have one week of Aeromedical
topics at the Aeromedical Center. It's not too bad. After that, your
class will split into two sections and you will start systems. During your
second week of systems you will start on the flightline. Once you have
flightline and academics going on, you will be very busy.

I typically found myself away from home from about 4:30 or 5:00 AM until
about 6:00 PM. I studied between 1 and 3 hours a night, depending on
what was going on. You've got to study every night.

That's about it. I hope all goes well for you. Drop me an email if
there's anything I can help you with.

Cheers,

- Juris

Hurry up and wait.
Get yelled at, eat fast, run everywhere, lack of sleep etc etc. Well wait a minute all that has changed over the years. But expect a scaled down version.
