From what I've seen and read online the age forty rule applies only to OCS candidates - which there is no guarantee of being branched to Aviation. They did rise the WO age to 33. Check out this link ...

Well I have to say I can understand your frustration. It would be nice if the Army had separate recruiters for WO, and Officers - but..... Well anyway - let me guess - you've done extensive research ...
